Love all of this. I remember we met shortly after all this happened, had to have been at the Paper Heart. Seems like forever ago, we were babies!

Thank you Heather I really resonated with this, although my circumstance is very different, the universal themes of loss, grief and our tendencies to numb or ourselves is so relatable. And I loved listening to you read it!

Oh my gosh Heather this is a stunning piece of writing and so deeply moving. I am so sorry you lost your dad so young, in such a sudden way. I lost my mum aged 14 to cancer, so there are differences, but also I so relate to trying to cope with grief through drinking. Thank you for sharing your story and huge congratulations on five and a half years of sobriety xxx
